Arunachal: Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda to attend Tawang Marathon, National Tug of War Championship on Oct 1

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda will be gracing the Tawang Marathon and the National Tug of War Championship in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, on October 1.

During his visit, the actor will also be visiting India’s first village, Mago, bordering Tibet and China, and will interact with the local villagers. He will also meet the Armed Forces stationed at the border village. `
Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu, taking to X, heartily welcomed the actor.

The Tawang Marathon will be held at 10,000 feet above the mean sea level in the lap of the Himalayas on October 1.

The marathon will be flagged off by Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Earth Sciences, Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, and Lt Gen Manish, GOC Gajraj Corps, on October 1 from the Tawang Stadium.

An overwhelming 2,500 people, including 550 women, have registered to take part in the inaugural edition of the Tawang Marathon.

The event, being jointly organized by the Indian Army and Arunachal Pradesh Government, aims to place Tawang on the international marathon map and showcase the spirit of unity and shared commitment towards the promotion of sports and healthy lifestyles, besides offering the participants a unique and unforgettable experience.

This will be the first ever high-altitude marathon in the Northeast and arguably the most challenging one in the nation.

The event comprises various categories that would enable participants to challenge their physical limits, including the ‘Prestigious’ Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.0975 km), and 10 or 5 km races.
Meanwhile, the 36th Senior (Men) and 18th Senior (Men and Women) Federation Cup National Tug of War Championship kicked off on Friday, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Over 400 players from 15 states, including the host state of Arunachal Pradesh, are taking part in the tournament, which will conclude on October 1.

The championship is being organized by the All Arunachal Tug of War Association.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu was present at the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.

MP Tapir Gao and Arunachal Pradesh education minister Taba Tedir were present as special guests.
