Tripura: One son dies, another fighting for life after mother poisons them, then kills herself

The incident took place in Kamala Bagan, Gopalnagar ADC village, under the Champahower Police Station in Khowai district
A woman poisoned her two sons aged between 10-12 years, then killed herself by consuming the same poison in Tripura’s Khowai district. One of the children died while being taken to hospital, while the other is in the hospital battling for his life, said Police.
The deceased woman and her children have been identified as Pramila Munda (the woman, wife of Manu Munda) and 10-year-old Parimal Munda (the younger child).
The incident took place in Kamala Bagan, Gopalnagar ADC village, under the Champahower Police Station in Khowai district on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to media, Manu Munda said that he was sleeping with his father when the incident happened and that he had no idea that his wife had any such plan.
“My father is not keeping well, so I was sleeping with him. Suddenly, my younger son came and fell. He then started vomiting, followed by my older son and their mother. I found out from my wife that she poisoned our sons before consuming the same poison,” said Manu Munda.
Police rushed to the hospital after receiving information about the incident.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and a case of unnatural death has been registered. Further investigation is underway.
