Heroin worth Rs 7 crore seized in Assam’s Cachar, 3 held

Three drug peddlers were arrested in connection with the case

In a successful operation following a tip-off, Cachar Police seized 88 boxes of soap that had more than 1 kilogram of heroin inside, worth Rs 7 crore.

Three drug peddlers were arrested in connection with the case: Baharul Laskar, (18), and Rohit Laskar, (19) both hailing from Baghabazar, Dholai; and Rahul Laskar, (18), from North Hawaii, Dholai.

The illegal narcotics were found in the Kabuganj area of Sonai Constituency in Cachar when the police intercepted a vehicle on the Silchar Aizawl road.

According to the information received, the price of these drugs on the black market is estimated to be around Rs 7 crore.

Additional SP Cachar, Subrata Sen, stated that this consignment of narcotics was illegally transported from neighboring states.
