The UDP has zeroed down on Pius Marwein as the candidate for the Ranikor bypoll, the HSPDP on Thursday extended it’s full support to the UDP candidate.

The NCP, also an ally of the MDA, meanwhile reserved it’s decision on the issue. The run-up to the Ranikor by poll is getting hotter with the coalition partners of the MDA government the NPP and the UDP all set to field heavy weights against each other.

HSPDP legislator and cabinet Minister, Samlin Malngiang said that the HSPDP will extend it’s full support to UDP candidate Pius Marwein since they had a pretty poll alliance with the UDP and respecting that they have chose to support the UDP candidate over the NPP candidate for Ranikor bypolls.

Samlin further maintained that this move of the HSPDP and the UDP will not affect the MDA coalition in anyway.

Meanwhile, lone NCP legislator and NCP State president, Saleng A Sangma said that the NCP will support the NPP candidate for the South Tura by polls but the party is yet to take call as far as Ranikor is concerned. He also informed that the NCP will not field any candidate in both the constituencies.
