Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked DGP GP Singh to investigate the incident
In a shocking incident that occurred in Golaghat, Assam, unidentified people attacked a young man and chopped his arm and leaving him bleeding on the road. The victim’s father has alleged that despite the grievous nature of the crime, the police is yet to take any action or lodge FIR.
The victim’s family had approached the police to file a complaint about the gruesome incident but they claimed that the police advised them to consider using a prosthetic limb instead of registering an FIR.
Upon learning of this distressing situation, local MLA Mrinal Saikia expressed his dissatisfaction and took to social media to highlight the matter.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, responding to Mrinal Saikia’s post on the platform, directed the Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh to investigate the incident.
“Please inquire into the matter,” posted Assam CM on X.
