Husband arrested for killing wife in Assam’s Morigaon

The accused husband has been identified as Pinku Nath.
In a shocking incident, a man was arrested in Assam’s Morigaon district for killing his wife (25), police said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Monday night in Pasatia area of the district.
The accused husband has been identified as Pinku Nath. It is alleged that Nath killed his wife in front of their month-old child. Her body was found inside the residence.
“A murder case was reported a few days back and today we have arrested victim’s husband in connection with the horrific crime”, said a police official.
“During investigation, we received information about Nath being involved in domestic violence against his wife. We arrested him after learning about these instances”, the police official added.
The official further added that accused is denying his involvement in the crime, “but based on the information from the neighbours and a few evidences, we suspect that he is involved.”
Currently, Nath is in police custody for ten days. Further investigation is underway.
Earlier, Nath told the police that she was lying half-naked on the floor and may have been raped before being killed.
Police official stated that the post-mortem examination did not reveal any evidence of rape.
