An example of lack of health care facilities and poor road condition has come to light in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

A video has surfaced where a patient and her child were seen being carried to a health center in a makeshift bamboo stretcher, as there is no health care center in the area. The video is from Tarapung village in Karbi Anglong.

The locals of the area were seen carrying the stretcher on their shoulders, crossing a river, and walking through the narrow roads of the hills to the health center.

Due to lack of health care center, the people of the village are compelled to travel long distances for treatment.

Not only this, the lack of proper roads has added to their woes.

People are forced to carry patients on their shoulders to the hospital.

This video has once again shown the ground reality of the lack of healthcare facilities and bad road condition in the state and has raised questions about the state government’s promise of providing good roads and adequate health care facilities across the state.
