Assam: 2 lakh youths to receive financial assistance under ‘Mukhya Mantri Sva-Niyojan Mission’

CM stated that the registration for the scheme, 'Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom' will begin from September 23-24.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday announced that the government would provide a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to 2 lakh entrepreneurs of the state under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sva-Niyojan Mission’ in the state.
Registration for the scheme, ‘Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom’ will begin from September 23-24, the CM said.
Chief Minister Sarma chaired a video conference with Assam Chief Secretary Paban Borthakur and other senior officials.
A tweet from Chief Minister’s Office said, “HCM Dr @himantabiswa is presently chairing a VC with senior officials from Assam House, Delhi on the upcoming launch of the Mukhya Mantri Sva-Niyojan Mission of creating 2 lakh entrepreneurs in Assam.”
Earlier on May 16, Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog announced the launch of the Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana scheme while presenting the annual state budget for the financial year 2023-24 in the Assam Legislative Assembly.
She proposed to implement a scheme to promote micro-entrepreneurs for creating self-employment opportunities among the unemployed youths belonging to BPL families and low-income households. A total of Rs 1,000 crore was allocated for FY24 under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sva-Niyojan Mission’ for creating self-employment.
“The total investment under this initiative will be Rs 5000 crore over the next three years with the potential to transform over two lakh unemployed youths into job creators. I am allocating Rs 1000 crore in this budget,” Ajanta Neog said.
