Drone footage of recently damaged hydel stations in Mechukha after a cloudburst hit Lhallung village near Mechukha in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, triggering devastating floods and causing damage to at least two hydel stations, crops, houses, and livestock. Due to the massive flash flood triggered by the cloudburst, the river changed course and came directly inside the power house of both Sirikorong MHS PH-I, thereby submerging all the EM components of both hydel stations and severely affecting both hydel plants. The two hydel plants were the only source of power supply to Mechuka Town and its adjoining villages, supplying power to a population of about 4000. Since the day of the occurrence of the flood, Mechuka town has been reeling under total darkness.
