Assam: Robbers throw itching powder on man, loot nearly Rs 1 lakh

Following the incident, the police reached the spot and launched an operation to nab the culprits

You will not believe what some thieves did to rob a man in Assam’s Tinsukia. They threw itching powder on the man and robbed him off nearly Rs 1 lakh on Thursday.

The incident took place at Doomdooma area in Tinsukia district. The victim has been identified as Kabir Das Tanti.

The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera.

“I had already around Rs 35 thousand with me and I withdrew at least Rs 40 thousand from a bank in Doomdooma town. When I came out of the bank, a man waiting outside threw itching powder on him’, Tanti said.

“A person came and suggested me to wash the face, suddenly he snatched my bag containing the money and fled from the scene”, Tanti added.

Following the incident, the police reached the spot and launched an operation to nab the culprits.
