Arunachal govt announces regularisation of jobs of 500 ISSE teachers, salary hike as Teachers’ Day gift

In some good news for the teachers of Arunachal Pradesh, the Arunachal government, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, announced the regularisation of jobs for 500 ISSE teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
In addition, Khandu announced a 22% hike in salary and a 3% Dearness Allowance for all the contractual teachers and employees serving in different categories under the Education Department, impacting approximately 4,900 teachers and indirectly benefiting a population of nearly 30,000 people.
He added that the contractual teachers will receive salaries at par with the regular employees.
Taking to X, Khandu wrote, “500 ISSE teachers to be regularized. More such announcements benefitting the teaching community made today on the special occasion of Teachers Day. Also with 22% hike in salary and 3% Dearness Allowance, contractual teachers and employees serving in different categories under Education Department will receive salary at par with the regular employees. We know Teachers deserve the best.”
Khandu also announced creation of 500 posts to regularise the services of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers appointed on contractual basis in the state.
Taking note of the illegal appointment of teachers and MTS staffers in the state recently, Khandu emphasised on the importance of duty, and strictly warned against any indulgence in illegal activities.
