Manipuri Welfare Society of Arunachal donates Rs.1 lakh for violence affected people of Manipur

CM N Biren Singh welcomed their wholehearted support to the initiatives taken up by the State government and thanked for their donation

A four-member delegation of Manipuri Welfare Society of Arunachal Pradesh (MWSAP) called on Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh at the CM Secretariat today and extended a helping hand to the Manipur government in helping the violence affected people in the state.

The representatives of MWSAP donated Rs. 1 lakh for those affected by the ethnic violence in the state that is going on for over 3 months now.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh welcomed their wholehearted support to the initiatives taken up by the State government and thanked for their donation.

“Representatives of the Manipuri Welfare Society of Arunachal Pradesh called on me at my Secretariat today. I welcome their wholehearted support to the initiatives taken up by the State Government and thankful towards their donation of a sum of Rs 1 lakh to assist the people affected by the unrest,” CM N Biren Singh wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Earlier, the MWSAP has condemned the violence in Manipur, and extended support to bring back Arunachalee students stranded in violence-hit Manipur.

The society along with Arunachal Life Saving Foundation (ALSF) had also organized a 3-day Blood Donation Camp from August 8 to 10 to extend support to the Manipur government in providing blood to violence-affected individuals.

Manipur is on the boil since May 3 after a violent clash broke out between two communities in the state.
