Assam Government bans small plastic water bottles from October 2 in the state

The state government prohibits the use or manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale of plastic water bottles below 1000 ml capacity

The Assam Environment and Forest Department has issued a notification banning the use and production of plastic water bottles below 1000 ml capacity in the state from October 2 this year.

“Government of Assam has prohibited the use or manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use of plastic water bottles below 1000 ml capacity in the state of Assam,” the notification read.

The Assam Government has already banned other plastic items like earbuds with plastic sticks, balloon sticks, plastic flags, candy and ice-cream sticks, and more. Thin plastic banners and bags are also not allowed.
