Assam: One arrested with heroin worth Rs 1.71 crore in Karimganj

Teams of Assam Rifles and Ratabari Police Station recovered 428 grams of heroin

Troops of Assam Rifles and Assam Police seized heroin worth Rs 1.71 crore and arrested one person in this connection in Assam’s Karimganj district today.

Based on inputs, teams of Assam Rifles and Ratabari Police Station jointly conducted a search operation at the Anipur area in Karimganj.

During the search operation, the joint team recovered 428 grams of heroin.

The recovered consignment and apprehended individual were handed over to Ratabari Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.

In another anti-narcotics operation, a team of border staff on Wednesday, August 23, intercepted a bus at a toll gate in Karimganj recovered 22.4 kgs of cannabis and arrested one individual in this connection.
