Assam: Guv Gulab Chand Kataria takes a train to Kokrajhar, to review developmental work in Bodo heartland

The Assam Governor will be reviewing progress of Centre's Flagship programmes being implemented in BTR for the development of the region

Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria today took the Rajdhani Express train to arrive in Kokrajhar, the administrative headquarter of the Bodo Territorial Region (BTR).
During his day long visit, the Governor will primarily review the progress of the Centre’s Flagship Missions being implemented in BTR for the welfare and progress of the people.
The Governor was received by BTR Chief Pramod Boro, Assam Cabinet Minister UG Brahma as well as several other dignitaries.
The Governor spoke to newspersons about his purpose of visit and said, “There is a meeting with the district (Kokrajhar) officials. I will speak to the representatives (CEM & EMs) of the BTC. We will discuss as to how development works can be carried forward.”
UG Brahma who is a minister in the Himanta Biswa Sarma cabinet briefed about the Governor’s visit and said, “Since he is the Constitutional Head of the Council he will conduct a review. He will be reviewing the progress of the Flagship Missions initiated by the Centre such as Jal Jeevan Mission, PMAY. He has a lot of acumen since before becoming the Governor he was a minister also. His guidance will be a deciding factor as far as development is concerned. Primarily he will take a review on whether the centrally sponsored flagship mission are implemented properly or not.”
BTR Chief Pramod Boro took to Twitter and stated, “Honoured to welcome His Excellency the Hon’ Governor of Assam Shri Gulab Chand Kataria Ji at Kokrajhar Railway Station this morning. His vast experience & exemplary guidance are vital for the welfare & progress of BTR.”
