Army takes care of medical and nutritional needs of Meiteis brought back to Manipur

Over 200 people from the Meitei community were brought back from Myanmar to the Manipur border town of Moreh yesterday.
These people had been stranded in Myanmar fo over 3 months due to the violence in the state. As per sources, several of them were in immediate need of medical assistance. As many as 2 teams of Assam Rifles and Gorkha Regiment had escorted the stranded people from the Indo-Myanmar border to Moreh town. 212 people, including the President of Meitei Council Moreh and several other leaders were escorted to a safe location under the protection of the Assam Rifles in Moreh.
