On the sidelines of the NEC’s plenary meet in Shillong, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said the fund given to the NEC by the Centre for carrying out various developmental projects across the north-eastern region should be increased as the council plays a supplementary role in the development of the region.
Shillong being the host city for 2022 national games, Sangma has also urged Home Minister Rajnath Singh for his support for infrastructural development for better connectivity.
Commenting on the security of the State, the Meghalaya Chief Minister said all the chief ministers of the NE states should be on board for a high-level discussion concerning security of the region as a whole.
