Assam: Renowned litterateur, activist and former Vice Principal of Cotton University, Deven Dutta passes away

Born in April 5, 1944 in Sivasagar district's Nazira, Professor Dutta had an illustrious academic career
Renowned litterateur, columnist, social activist and former Vice Principal of Cotton University in Guwahati, Deven Dutta passed away. He was 81.
Dutta breathed his last past midnight around 12:10 AM at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Professor Dutta was admitted at the hospital following a cardiac ailment on August 11.
His mortal remains has now been taken to his residence at Guwahati’s Sundarpur area.
His last rites will be performed at the Navagraha Crematoritum today.
Born in April 5, 1944 in Sivasagar district’s Nazira, Professor Dutta had an illustrious academic career, and was also the former head of the department of English at Cotton University.
