Chief Minister Manik Saha chaired a crucial meeting of the party leadership to discuss on the party's strategy.

While the Opposition is mulling to put up a joint fight against the BJP in the upcoming by-polls for the Dhanpur and the Boxanagar constituencies in Tripura, the BJP too has geared up to ensure that the party has the last laugh.

In fact the BJP is confident enough to win both the seats despite, the Opposition making all out efforts to challenge the Saffron Party.

To ensure that everything falls in place, Chief Minister Manik Saha chaired a crucial meeting of party leadership to discuss on the party’s strategy.

Tripura Inforamtion and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury responding to the meeting held by Opposition parties-TIPRA Motha, CPI-M and Congress said, “Such meetings have taken place before also especially before the 2023 elections. The result is in front of You and BJP has formed the govt for the second time. Lets see what happens in the days to come.

We want to convey that in the Dhanpur and Boxanagar by-polls BJP will have a landslide victory. In the last election also we fought alone, IPFT had extended support. The same will prevail and we will win.”

Sushanta Chowdhury sharing details about the meeting informed, “The dates for by-polls to the Dhanpur and the Boxanagar constituencies have been announced. We discussed about the strategy because we have to win both the seats. We are hopeful that we will win both the seats as it happened in the last assembly election. We will work further on the strategies.”

Chowdhury said that the names of candidates will be fixed as per consultations and approval of the BJP central leadership.

On Saturday Opposition parties- TIPRA Motha, CPI-M and the Congress ‘decided’ to fight the BJP together in the by-polls for Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly constituencies on September 5.

As per inputs, the meeting primarily focused on the fact that there is ‘no division of votes’ amongst the Opposition parties.

Leader of Opposition in Tripura Legislative Assembly Animesh Debbarma, Tripura Congress President Ashish Saha, former minister Sudip Roy Barman, as well as CPI-M leaders including Jitendra Chowdhury huddled in Agartala to hold a closed door meeting and discuss the road map for the successful execution of their plans.
