Metbah Lyngdoh said that he has left it to the members of the nomination committee to decide on whether he should continue to lead the party

Ahead of the general council meeting on August 12 of United Democratic Party (UDP) of Meghalaya to decide on the next party president along with other matters, speculations are doing the rounds that the current party president Metbah Lyngdoh is likely to be re-elected to lead the party for another term.

Former Assembly Speaker and the four-time legislator from Mairang,Metbah Lyngdoh was elected UDP president on September 11, 2019 after the demise of former party president (L) Donkupar Roy.

The nomination committee constituted to nominate new president and office bearers for the executive committee comprise of – Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, PT Sawkmie, Mayralborn Syiem, Nujorki Sungoh and two members from Garo Hills.
