Manipur: NESO delegation leaves for Imphal as part of efforts to bring peace

During the visit the delegation is expecting to meet the Governor, Chief Minister and CSO leaders
A delegation of the Northeast Students Organisation (NESO) left for violence affected Manipur from Guwahati this morning.
The delegation will be taking stock of the situation and is scheduled to meet leaders of both the communities in conflict as part of efforts to bring permanent peace.
NESO leaders also informed that the delegation will be meeting Governor Anusuiya Uikey and visit various relief camps.
Just before leaving for Manipur, NESO Chairman Samuel Jyrwa said, “We are going to visit Manipur even though a team of NESO is already stationed in Manipur. We have been in constant touch with the leaders of both the communities in Manipur. This visit is a continued effort from the part of NESO in order to bring peace and tranquility. This visit is also aimed to strengthen the age old relationship between the different communities.”
All Assam Students Union (AASU) Chief Adviser, Samujjal Bhattacharya who is also a part of the delegation said, “2 of our NESO teams are already in Manipur since tension erupted. We will meet the Civil society groups of both the communities and also visit the relief camps. We are going there to hasten the process of promoting unity among both the communities.”
