In a significant move, the Meghalaya Police is initiating steps to modernise police stations in the state with special focus on rural areas.
Director General of Police, SB Singh informed that the state police has plans to upgrade and modernize police stations in the state with special focus on rural areas and a presentation in this regard has already been made before Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
Stating that majority of the police stations in East Khasi Hills are in satisfactory condition, the state police chief however pointed out that there are many police stations lack proper infrastructure.
