Manipur unrest: Governor Anusuiya Uikey assures adequate compensation to the affected

Governor Anusiya Uikey informed that the government is in talks with every stakeholder for ensuring permanent peace

Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey is leading the mission to restore peace in the violence affected state.

The Manipur Governor today visited a relief camp in Churachandpur and interacted with inmates, who conveyed their grirevances owing to the present situation.

Interacting with the inmates, Governor Anusiya Uikey assured that the government will provide adequate compensation to those affected by the violence.

The Governor stated,”People are asking me as to when peace will be restored. They want to return to their homes. I am making efforts so that peace prevails.”

In a significant statement, Governor Anusuiya Uikey said that each and every stakeholder are in talks to ensure that there is permanent peace. The Governor also informed that the government is holding deliberations to pacify the situation.

She said,”Both the communities (in conflict) want that peace comes. In this situation we are in talks with representatives of both the communities as well as the CSOs. The government is also in talks with all the political parties to make people understand for abjuring violence. We are trying to explain that let there be peace like before.”

Besides, Governor Uikey also stated that the government is making all out efforts to make sure that there is no shortage of essentials in the state.

The Manipur Governor today visited Lamka Hya Relief Centre.
