Being born into a royal family may seem like destiny and a few people have the luxury of being born into such a family. But not everyone who is born with privileges chooses to rest on their laurels. One such remarkable individual is Mahanaaryaman Scindia, the prince of Gwalior and son of Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Born into the illustrious Scindia dynasty, which traces its roots back to the rulers of Gwalior, Mahanaryaman Scindia has chosen to step into the start-up world, a path less travelled by royals, diverging from his family’s political legacy.

In the past year, Mahanaaryaman founded his own start-up named MyMandi, a B2B2C marketplace with a unique vision.

With a royal heritage and inherited billions, Mahanaryaman’s foray into the start-up world with his agricultural venture, MyMandi, has captured attention and admiration alike.

Take a look at the prince’s inspiring entrepreneurial journey and about his startup-MyMandi:

Mahanaryaman started his own business because of a strong kinship with the land and a desire to support the agriculture industry.

He co-founded MyMandi in 2022 with the intention of transforming the agricultural sector.

MyMandi offers an all-in-one web platform together with further value-added services like Fintech, EV, and Microlending in an effort to unite the current community of cart-pushers. Mahanaryaman Scindia is so dedicated to his work that he himself goes to the ‘Sabji Mandi’ to buy fruits and vegetables.

MyMandi has swiftly become well-known for its emphasis on innovation and contemporary methods, and it now brings in a staggering 1 crore in annual revenue.

As per reports, till July last year, the startup secured a funding round of Rs 4.2 crore.

Currently, MyMandi operates in four cities – Gwalior, Nagpur, Jaipur, and Agra.

Mahanaaryaman Scindia was born 17 November 1995. Just like his father Jyotiraditya Scindia, Mahaaryaman Scindia completed his early education at Doon School.

He received his degree from GAIL University. After finishing his studies, he spent some time working for the Boston Consulting Group. Additionally, he honed his knowledge in International Relations and Affairs at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

A look into Scindia dynasty –

The Hindu Maratha Scindia dynasty, also referred to as the Shinde dynasty, ruled over the illustrious Gwalior State in central India. The dynasty was founded by Ranoji Scindia, who first worked as a modest personal servant to Peshwa Bajirao I, and has roots in the patil-ship of Kumberkerrab in the Wai district. The Scindia dynasty ruled Gwalior until 1947 when India gained independence from British colonial authority.
