Assam: ULFA-I woman linkman arrested with Rs 3 lakh in Dibrugarh

The arrested woman has been identified as Pushpanjali Gogoi, a resident of Dihing village of the Laipuli area in Tinsukia
A woman linkman of the banned United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) was apprehended by a joint team of the Indian Army and Assam police with Rs 3 lakh in cash in Dibrugarh district.
The woman was arrested from near Dibrugarh University at around 3 pm on Saturday, July 22.
The arrested woman has been identified as Pushpanjali Gogoi, a resident of Dihing village of the Laipuli area in Tinsukia district.
According to sources, she had been extorting money from businessmen in the area on behalf of ULFA (I).
An official statement from Dibrugarh Police is awaited.
