Silchar: Angry mob block roads, attack police to protest killing of 19-year-old girl in Cachar

In a late night incident, angry mob stormed the streets of Silchar last night, blocked roads and pelted stone on police injuring at least one CRPF jawan and some police
Police had to resort to blank firing and lathi charge to bring the mob under control. The mob was protesting the killing of a 19 year old girl whose acid-burnt body was found in an under-construction building yesterday. The girl was missing since July 15. It is being suspected that the girl was abducted, raped and then killed, burnt with acid.
