A popular Meitei singer Jayenta Loukrakpam, known by his stage name Tapta, has stirred a big row with an extremely controversial song calling for genocide of Kukis.

An FIR has been filed by the Zomi Students Federation or the ZSF against Tapta over the release of the song on July 7. The song has highly objectionable lyrics that amount to hate speech and even incite genocide. Among other things, the song says that Meiteis will never have peace until every Kuki is killed. The song also demeans the Indian army with derogatory lines mentioned against the force.
