Manipur State Co-operative Bank at Kangpokpi looted

The branch was shut for 2 months due to the violence in the state and had reopened on July 11
After the robbery at Axis Bank branch in Churachandpur, Manipur another such incident has been reported from Kangpokpi district of the state.
As per inputs, the Manipur State Co-operative Bank, Kangpokpi Branch, was looted by miscreants and the incident came to light on July 11, the day the bank reopened after being shut for two months because of the violence that started on May 3. The branch was shut from May 4 till July 11.
Sources said that six computer sets, a printer, and one CCTV camera hard drive have been stolen from the bank. However, no cash could be stolen as the Branch had already taken out all the cash from the vault as well as the ATM in May on the advice of the head office.
An FIR has been lodged at the local police station.
It may be mentioned here that Axis Bank’s Churachandpur branch was robbed during the violence that rocked Manipur. Miscreants decamped with over Rs 1 crore in cash and gold jewellery. The theft came to light on July 10, the day the bank reopened. This bank too was shut since May 4.
