Sikkim govt’s SOP for public and organisations for meeting govt officials

The office memorandum issued by the Sikkim government has listed out four points to be complied with by the public or any organisation seeking to meet government officials
The Sikkim government has issued an SOP to be followed by pressure groups, organisations and associations seeking to meet government officials.
The office memorandum dated July 10, states that the decision has been taken “With a view to facilitate and regulate meetings with the Heads of Department or Officers of the State Government by Associations/Organisations or Public and towards ensuring that proper office decorum is maintained during the course of such meetings, the following instructions are hereby issued for compliance.”
Any person, organisation or association wanting to meet government officials will have to comply with the following instructions:
- An Association/Organisation or Public should seek prior appointment of the HOD (Head of Department) or Officer of the State Government by giving an advance notice of 48 hours, indicating the purpose of the meeting.
- The visiting team will give their names, addresses, mobile numbers and produce identity cards (Aadhaar Card/Driving License/Voter ID to the reception counter of the department. Not more than three (3) persons of the visiting team will be allowed to enter the Office of HOD or Officer.
- No camera, mobile phone or any kind of electronic gadgets will be allowed inside the Office of HOD or Officer.
- During the meeting, if the visiting team desires to take photograph – in such case, photographs will be taken by the official assigned by the HOD or Officer which will be shared subsequently with the visiting team.
