Police recovered the heroin hidden inside 24 soap boxes
Assam Rifles have seized drugs worth Rs two crore and arrested four persons in connection with the case in Cachar district today.
Based on information, the Srikona Battalion of Agartala Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) conducted an operation at Lakhipur area in Cachar. During the search, police recovered the heroin hidden inside 24 soap boxes.
As per inputs, exploiting the current situation in Manipur, the smugglers were trying to smuggle drugs from Manipur to Assam.
The recovered consignment and apprehended individuals were handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further legal proceedings.
