All the opposition members staged a walkout, protesting the Speaker's decision and demanding disciplinary action against MLA Jadab Lal Nath

The first day of the monsoon session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly started on a stormy note after five Opposition MLAs were suspended for the day for creating a ruckus in the Assembly.

Five opposition MLAs, Nayan Sarkar (CPIM), Sudip Roy Barman (Congress), Briswaketu Debbarma (TIPRA Motha), Nandita Reang (TIPRA Motha), and Ranjit Debbarma (TIPRA Motha), were suspended by Assembly Speaker Bishwabandhu Sen after opposition parties raised a hue and cry during Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy’s budget speech.

The Opposition parties gathered at the well of the Assembly, forming a chain, raising slogans, and demanding answers from the Speaker on what action has been taken against BJP MLA Jadab Lal Nath, who was allegedly caught watching porn on his phone during the last assembly session.

Two MLAs, including TIPRA Motha MLA Nandita Reang, were seen walking over the table and creating a ruckus in the House.

Later, all the opposition members staged a walkout, protesting the Speaker’s decision and demanding disciplinary action against MLA Jadab Lal Nath.

Earlier today, in an attempt to ‘purify’ the House premises, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman could be seen sprinkling ‘Ganga Jal’ in the House, which, according to the opposition parties, has been tainted after MLA Jadab Lal Nath allegedly watched porn inside the House.

The MLAs could also be seen hurling abuse at each other and using unparliamentary language inside the house.
