Mizoram Congress President Lalsawta gave a clarion call to the Government of India for an urgent solution to the unrest and turmoil in Manipur.

Stating that law and order has failed in the state, Lalsawta said the Government of India should come up with a solution at the earliest.

Lalsawta also appealed for an immediate end to the bloodshed and human suffering in the trouble-torn state.

Speaking to Northeast Live, Lalsawta said, “I do not intend to comment on the political situation, but the immediate solution to the killings and this human suffering should stop, and for this purpose, law and order should be maintained within the territory of Manipur.”

Terming the situation very unfortunate, Lalsawta said that law and order in Manipur has failed.

“It is very unfortunate that these things have happened. The human suffering that has been caused by this incident is very touching for Mizoram. Law and order in Manipur has failed. If the state government is unable to keep law and order for the safety of the citizens, it is for the government of India to think of a solution,” he added.

Manipur has been on the boil for two month now since violence broke out in the state between two communities on May 3.
