Sikkim: Case filed against CAP leader Ganesh Rai for alleged misappropriation of funds

The members of Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society (MPCS) Melli Dara in South Sikkim have registered a case against chief co-ordinator of Citizen Action Party (CAP) Ganesh Rai.
The case against Rai has been filed at the Melli Dara police station for alleged misappropriation of funds of the co-operative society.
A case under Sections 420, 468, 406, 419, 471 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been registered.
The embezzlement of funds is with regard to credit limits and loans granted to different beneficiaries for different agricultural purposes during the period of 2014-2015. Ganesh Rai was the then President of the Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society (MPCS) Melli Dara.
Probe into the matter has already begun.
