Pilgrims throng Kamakhya for Ambubachi Mela

Today is the second day of the yearly Ambubachi Mela. Scores of people have gathered at the temple premises on the occasion.
Yesterday, the temple gates closed down at 9:27 pm and will open on June 26 at precisely 9:51 am after a period of three days.
For the three day period, Kamakhya will be swarmed with pilgrims from all over the country. The temple premises are crowded with sadhus and ascetics of all shades and colours.
Authorities are already making elaborate arrangements to see that the Mela is conducted in the smoothest manner possible. Makeshift camps have been erected at several places where scores of pilgrims are residing for this time period.
