Security beefed up in Mizoram House in Silchar, Assam

"No one shall be allowed entering Mizoram House complex without fulfilling the above requirements," the order said

Deputy Resident Commissioner (DRC) of Mizoram House in Silchar S. Kaptluanga issued an office order on Saturday saying, “Any person entering Mizoram House complex at Silchar has to show his identity card to duty officer and declare his/her purpose of entering to the satisfaction of duty officer or ARC.”

“No one shall be allowed entering Mizoram House complex without fulfilling the above requirements,” the order said.

The order is with immediate effect and until further order.

Silchar-based All Assam Manipuri Youth’s Association (AAMYA) in Cachar district on Wednesday threatened to launch ‘some serious moves’ if the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) does not withdraw its support to the separate administration in Manipur for the minority Kuki-Zo community.

In a press briefing in Silchar, the AAMYA threatened that the MNF should withdraw their support toseparate administration in Manipur within three days from Wednesday.

The threats from the AAMYA, which has its headquarters in Silchar prompted the Mizoram House officials to tighten security in and around the Mizoram House.
