The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the Chattisgarh Government to relieve IPS officer T John Longkumer after it approved the ‘inter-cadre’ deputation of T. John Longkumer from Chhattisgarh to Nagaland for a period of three years on administrative grounds.
The Chhattisgarh Government has been directed to relieve the IPS officer immediately with the direction to report to the Government of Nagaland. A copy of the letter issued by the MHA has also been copied to the Chief Secretary to the Nagaland Government.
As per reports, Longkumer will take over charge as the next Director General of Nagaland Police. Longkumer is a 1991 batch IPS officer of the Chattisgarh Cadre and is currently serving as the Additional DG of Chattisgarh Police, ADG Traffic & Rail PHQ Raipur.
