Putting an end to all speculations, Congress legislator Martin M Danggo has resigned as MLA from the Ranikor Assembly Constituency.
Danggo submitted his resignation letter which was addressed to the Meghalaya Speaker Donkupar Roy, to Deputy Speaker of the state, Timothy Shira early this morning.
Only yesterday, the Meghalaya Deputy Speaker informed Northeast Live that Danggo would be quitting as MLA next week. But, Danggo submitted his resignation today itself.
With Meghalaya witnessing an intense political drama, Northeast Live is the first channel to break this development in Shillong.
With this resignation of Martin Danggo the total number of seats of the Congress in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly has come down to 20 and now both the Congress and the NPP stand at same numbers.
