Ending days of high drama, the Itanagar administration on Friday evening said that all detainees, except one, including Arunachal rights activist Sol Dodum have been released.

Dodum and 40 others were detained under the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (APUAPA) on May 8-9 to prevent any law and order situation during the 72-hour bandh called by certain individuals and groups from May 10-12 to protest the APPSC scam.

On May 29, the first batch of 18 of the 41 individuals were released.

On June 7, Itanagar Capital Region DC Talo Potom held a meeting with Sol Dodum and few others. He made them sign a bond stating that they would not indulge in any undemocratic and unlawful activities. But at the end of it they were not release and put under detention again.

Yesterday, few more of the detainees were released but Dodum and seven others — Nimi Taba, Kipa Champa, Taw Paul, Tana Tamar, Nabam Sanjay, Jidam Riamuk and Vijay Pertin were detained again.

DC potom said that they were detained for few more days as there was a possibility that they could create law and order situation in the state. Dodum and the seven others mentioned above were identified as the main bandh callers by the Itanagar administration.
