Speaking to Northeast Live, CYMA president Lalhmachhuana termed such allegations as mere propaganda.
The Central Young Mizo Association (YMA) has out rightly rejected the allegations levelled by a Meitei body stating that it is plotting to establish Greater Mizoram by unifying Kuki-Chin-Zo areas and this was fuelling the unrest in Manipur.
Speaking to Northeast Live, CYMA president Lalhmachhuana termed such allegations as mere propaganda. He said, “There can be rumours which say that YMA may be interfering in the political issues but that is fake news and false propaganda.”
The CYMA president affirmed that as an NGO it has no interference in the political issues which pertain to other states and especially when one speaks about Manipur.
Lalhmachhuana said, “We as an NGO do not have any interference in the political issues of others especially in the state of Manipur. Even in the previous times also there are many people who are coming to the state of Mizoram, from Myanmar or even from Bangladesh also. We do not have political interferences in those places also.”
In fact, the CYMA is reaching out to the affected people of Manipur by providing them all kinds of assistance on humanitarian grounds. Lalhmachhuana maintained,”In the issue of Manipur also what we have done is only providing humanitarian aids on humanitarian grounds. There ios no interference in their demands or their politcal issues.”
Stating that the CYMA’s motto is to help those in distress, Lalhmachhuana said it is working only to meet the shortage of food materials, daily essentials and medicines meant for the affected people of Manipur.
