Tripura: 21 BSF jawans fall ill due to suspected food poisoning

At least 21 BSF personnel in Tripura were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning on Wednesday. The incident occurred at the Latiapura border outpost in Kailashahar, Unakoti district. The troopers who have taken ill belong to the 199 battalion of the BSF.
Out of the total 21, 15 BSF jawans are admitted at the RGM Hospital, while 5 others are admitted to the district hospital.
Doctors informed that although the condition of the BSF troopers is not critical, they will have to undergo treatment until they recover fully.
Worth mentioning that the disitrict health officials have sent a team to the Border Outpost BOP to collect food and water samples served to the troops. The team is also coordinating with BSF officials to conduct medical examinations of the kitchen staff for assessing their health condition.
Further probe into the matter is underway.
