PM inaugurates new Parliament building: NE CMs grace occasion, term it historic

Leaders from Northeast including the Chief Ministers attended the mega ceremony at the national capital.

Seen as a reflection of the wishes and dreams of 140 crore Indians, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new Parliament building.

This was marked by different ceremonies including an all-faith prayer and the Prime Minister placing the Sengol (considered a sacred emblem of authority, representing the transfer of power from one ruler to the next) in the new Lok Sabha chamber.

Leaders from Northeast including the Chief Ministers attended the mega ceremony at the national capital.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who was also present on the occasion shared his thoughts and tweeted,”I bow to the grand vision of Hon PM and his courage to undertake this endeavour. From this hallowed temple of democracy our new journey for India at 100 in 2047 shall begin.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared a video of the new Parliament building and tweeted,”#NewIndia, New Aspirations, Soaring Ambitions.”

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha too graced the event and said,”Proud to witness the glorious and historical inaugural ceremony of the New Parliament Building in New Delhi.
This building is reflection of the vision of #NewIndia by PM @narendramodi Ji. MyParliamentMyPride”

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma tweeted,”As an honored spectator of this historic moment, I am filled with immense pride for the accomplishments of our nation.

Our nation’s dedication to democracy and embracing a brighter future is exemplified by the new Parliament building. It is a testament to India’s illustrious history and firm commitment to inclusive governance.”

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also conveyed his greetings on the occasion and tweeted,”I join the nation in congratulating the Union Govt., Shri @narendramodi Ji and all who contributed to building the historic #NewParliament. Parliament is the supreme legislative body of a democracy and I hope it will be the abode of transformational policies. #MyParliamentMyPride”

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said,”It is an honour and a privilege for me to attend the historic inauguration ceremony of the new building of the Indian Parliament by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

As a physical manifestation of the pillars of democracy, the new parliament building serves as a symbol of unity, representation, and the collective will of the people. It is a momentous day for our great nation, signifying the birth of a new era of democracy.
