Manipur unrest day 25: 33 armed cadres neutralized so far, says N Biren Singh

The Manipur CM also said that mass combing operations along with helicopter surveillance is underway to trace armed miscreants and militants attacking the civilians.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh today made a big revelation and stated that as many as 33 armed cadres have been neutralised so far in the state with the security forces looking to restore normalcy.
Briefing media persons after his meeting with Army Chief General Manoj Pande, CM N Biren Singh also said that the gunfights reported currently from the state are between the forces and suspected Kuki militants under the SoO.
The Manipur CM also said that mass combing operations along with helicopter surveillance is underway to trace armed miscreants and militants attacking the civilians.
The Manipur Chief Minister said, “This conflict is not between two communities. This is between suspected armed Kuki SoO militants and the combined State and Central Security forces. I appeal to all hill and valley people not to get themselves involved in this conflict…”
Army Chief General Manoj Pande held a crucial meet with Chief Minister N Biren Singh at the latter’s official residence a short while ago. The meeting came at a time when reports of intermittent firing and gunfights are coming in from several areas in Manipur.
The key meet was held to discuss and deliberate over the current situation in the violence-torn state.
Earlier upon arriving in the state, the Chief of Army Staff called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey along with General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Command Lt. General RP Kalita at Raj Bhavan.
The Army has indicated that armed miscreants may likely use human shields during exchange of fire with the forces.
In a tweet, the Spear Core of the Indian Army gave a strong message to all miscreants srating that they are under constant watch. The tweet further stated that the Indian Army is committed to restore peace and adopt a people friendly approach irrespective of the nefarious plot of likely usage of human shield.
