Rio urges NSCN-K to join peace process

In the wake of the Mon district ambush incident, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio appealed to the NSCN-K to resume truce and join the peace talks. Rio also expressed deep anguish
In the wake of the Mon district ambush incident, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio appealed to the NSCN-K to resume truce and join the peace talks. Rio also expressed deep anguish over the killing of an Assam Rifles personnel and a sepoy of the Naga battalion in an attack by NSCN-K rebels in Mon dsitrict.
Stating that his government was committed towards an early and inclusive resolution to the long standing Naga political issue, Rio appealed the NSCN-K to return to the negotiating table and restore its ceasefire with the government of India to enable an all-inclusive peace process and work towards an early solution in the interest of the Nagas.
