Assam: Hridam Thakuria from Dhekiajuli tops HSLC 2023 exam, Min Ashok Singhal to sponsor his higher education

Assam Minister Ashok Singhal said that he will personally sponsor the higher education of Hridam Thakuria

Hridam Thakuria of Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Dhekiajuli has topped the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exams with 596 marks.

Congratulating Hridam, Assam Minister Ashok Singhal said that as a token of appreciation for Hridam Thakuria’s hard work and to propel him towards greater academic success, he will personally sponsor the higher education of Hridam.

The Minister has also announced Rs 20 lakhs from MLA fund to Hridam Thakuria’s school Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Dhekiajuli to further help the school in producing ‘jewels’ like Hridam.

“A day of immense happiness & pride for Dhekiajuli. As a token of appreciation for his immense hardwork & to propel him towards greater academic success, I will personally sponsor the higher education of Hridam Thakuria, this year’s HSLC topper from Dhekiajuli. On this happy day, I’m also glad to announce an assistance of ₹20 Lakhs from MLA fund to Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Dhekiajuli, an institution under the umbrella of Vidya Bharati, to further help the school in producing jewels like Hridam,” the minister tweeted.

Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) today announced the results of HSLC exams 2023. The pass percentage was 72.69%. Boys outshone girls this time with a pass percentage of of 74.71 per cent, while female candidates secured a total pass percentage of 70.96 per cent.

As many as 61 students were among the top 10 position holders.

While Hridam is the state topper, four students – Ishrat Farha of Nagaon Govt. Boy’s H.S School, Lucky Devi Choudhury and Manmita Sarma of Ananda Vidya Niketan, Nalbari, and Aditya Anupom Konwar of St. Joseph’s School, Sonari secured the second position.

Nilufer Rahman of Dumunichowki English School, Anindita Borah of Adarsha Vidyapeeth, Bholaguri, Mriganka Bhattacharyya of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Baharghat have secured the third position.

A total of 4,15,324 candidates appeared in the board examinations, out of which 3,01,880 candidates have passed the examination.

18,653 students obtained star marks, 8,517 students got distinction marks, 94,913 students have secured first division, 1,48,573 students got second division and 58,394 students got third division in the examinations.

Chirang district recorded the highest pass percentage this year, at 88.68%, while Goalpara district recorded the lowest pass percentage in the examinations.
