Meghalaya: SSA teachers to get their pending salaries for March by next week

The Meghalaya government will release the salaries of SSA teachers for the month of March by next week, informed Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Schools Association (MSSASA) president Aristotle C Rymbai today.

MSSASA today met Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma over delayed salary, enhancement and regularisation.

Rymbai after meeting Minister Rakkam A Sangma said, “The state government has arranged to pay the salary of SSA teachers for the month of March, from the corpus fund. We were told during the meeting that next week, the salary will be released.”

He said that the state has to shell out approximately Rs 26-17 crore per month to pay the salary.

Rymbai further stated that the demand for the regularization of SSA teachers’ services and an increase in pay was also discussed during the meeting with the education minister and that they were informed that officials are working to resolve the matter and that the responsible minister will soon arrange a meeting to discuss it further.
