An unkonwn disease has claimed the lives of three young women from the same family in the Behali Bimdhanga village in Assam leaving the community in shock and prompting health officials to investigate the cause of the deaths.

The ordeal began on March 11, when Ranju Ghatowa (deceased) and Manika Ghatowa (deceased)
fell ill, displaying symptoms of an ailment that the doctors could not identify. The duo was rushed to Tezpur Medical College for urgent medical attention. However, their condition rapidly deteriorated, and tragically, both young women passed away.

In a twist of fate, their younger sister, Laxmi Ghatowa, also fell victim to the same unknown disease and tragically lost her life at home today.

The untimely deaths of these three sisters have sent shockwaves through the close-knit community of Behali. Residents are now living in fear as other members of the family are also experiencing symptoms resembling those of chickenpox but they did not respond to the chickenpox treatment.

In response to the growing concern, the Bishwanath District Health in charge has taken immediate action. Blood samples from the deceased girls have been sent for analysis to identify the exact cause of their deaths.

Speaking on the matter, the health in charge stated, “We suspect that the disease is caused by a virus that has affected the girls.” As a precautionary measure, health officials have issued instructions and implemented preventive measures to halt the spread of the virus among others in the area. The local authorities are working diligently to control the situation and provide necessary medical assistance to affected individuals.
