He had joined NSCN K-YA in March 2020 and subsequently defected to NSCN-KN in Aug 2022
An active cadre of NSCN-KN surrendered before a joint team of Assam Rifles and state Police at DC Office, Longding in Arunachal Pradesh and vowed to lead a peaceful life and become a responsible citizen yesterday night.
Police is yet to reveal his name.
The Self Styled Rajapio of NSCN-KN has been associated with the organisation since 2022.
He had joined NSCN K-YA in March 2020 and subsequently defected to NSCN-KN in Aug 2022.
He was responsible for tax collection from general area Kanubari of Longding on behalf of his faction, said Mirpe Tatto, DC Longding.
Notably, the Assam Rifles’ joint efforts and relentless search, together with the police’s support, made the self-styled Rajapio leave the underground organization and join the mainstream.
His surrender is probably going to encourage other resident cadres of Longding to give up violence in the near future.
