Amid the ongoing bandh in Itanagar and some other parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar DC Talo Potom said that two review meetings will be held today.
The first one will be chaired by Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix and another District level meeting will be held by today afternoon around 2PM. Refuting charges that well-known activist Sol Dodum who was arrested as a preventive measure on May 9 night ahead of the 3-day bandh was being tortured by police, DC Potom said that he spoke to the concerned DSP and other senior police officials who confirmed that Dodum is absolutely fine and safe. The DC further said that Arunachal Police abides by the guidelines laid down in the manual regarding handling inmates and is mindful of any inhuman act that might result in human rights violation.
