The Gauhati High Court has taken up a suo moto public interest litigation on the lynching of two youths From Guwahati in Karbi Anglong last week.
Expressing concern, the division bench comprising chief justice Ajit Singh and justice Achintya Malla Barua issued a show cause notice to the state respondents.
The next hearing is scheduled on June 19 and the State respondents shall be required to inform the High Court what effective measures have been taken to arrest the wrongdoers and also to inform what action has been taken against the erring officials.
