4 Assam colleges to coach students to become IAS, IPS

The colleges are -Jagannath Barooah College in Jorhat;Gurucharan College in Silchar; Darrang College in Tezpur and Bhola Nath College in Dhubri district

As many as four general degree colleges of Assam will be turned into bustling campuses to coach college students to become IAS, IPS and state civil service officers.

The four colleges are -Jagannath Barooah College in Jorhat;Gurucharan College in Silchar; Darrang College in Tezpur and Bhola Nath College in Dhubri district.

In the campuses, experts will teach undergraduate students from different parts of the state to excel in national and state civil service and competitive tests.

The initiative is under a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed by the State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) with the four colleges located in four different corners of the state to implement the project “Civil Services study centres at Universities and Colleges”.

According to the MoA, the implementing agencies would prioritise the need to find the motivated, self-assured, and interested students at the graduation level while they are continuing their education. They will also provide them with the necessary infrastructure and study materials.
